BUTTERFLIES

Butterflies many, I see in this Alma Mater,
Coming from far away lands as ever,
Leading to one place hand in hand,
Pursuing Knowledge and Wisdom.

Butterflies many, I have gone around with them,
Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst as a team,
Sharing and discussing what we know with one another,
Understanding that knowledge and practice must go together.

Butterflies many, I can't help looking up to you,
Going on and on through righteous point of view,
Studying the Buddha's Teaching day and night,
Breaking through all perils of life with Dhamma-light.

Butterflies many, I feel like saying, ''Thank you'' to you,
Paving the way for the youth to shoot for the moon,
Striving for the good of people with no discrimination,
Illuminating the world with Teaching out of compassion.

Butterflies many, I really take pride in you,
Believing in your great inner strength and moral values.
I go into great rapture about my Butterflies,
Bearing the deep gratitude of Alma Mater in my mind.

( Here Butterflies refer to my University-student-monks.)

What’s What

We, at the present age, are striving to reach a high standard of living. we also speak of people as being good and bad in every day conversation. The views differ as names do. Some are of the opinions that a wealthy person is worthy of respect and can be happy in this very life, but for some , it is only when in pure moral standards. Taking untruth for truth and truth for untruth, people go on and on in search of sensual pleasure. Some people try to create their smiles on the tears of others. As opposed to pleasure, what they get is but to pass sleepless nights with a restless mind. It is evident to all of us that in this day and age , with all his wealth and high position , there is still such person who lives in worry and anxiety and loses his bearings. Life wastes itself while we are struggling for what we believe . Thus , we become enslaved to the so-called pleasure daydreaming. It leaves us feeling low and craven and then we are at a loss what to do next. It is in fact due to our ignorance that instead of searching internal happiness, we are seeking after external things .
The way to peace and happiness is so simple. Tell the truth, act righteously, and live by doing what is right. Better is it to live as a cultured and respected person than to live as a wicked one. Even though we live in the hope of finding a life of luxury, dignity and an achievement of great praise, we are hardly very keen on living in accordance with form and function. Just as it is impossible to judge a book by merely looking at its cover, so also, it is to judge a person by his appearances and hot air. It does not matter what one does and preaches, but how much good will and loving kindness he puts into it that matters. And we should also take account of how much welfare it brings not for himself only but for others. In order not to be likened to a flower with no scent, let’s harness our wild desire and wish with dignity and strive to get what we need. It is said that to travel hopefully is better than to arrive.
Actually, it is only when one is satisfied with whatever he earns, trains his mind to become reasonable, and grows into social conscience that one enables to build a healthy and happy life. Our compassionate Buddha exhorted beings to guard and tame their minds because a well-guarded and tamed mind brings happiness. All we need to do is to practise what we preach and to keep on mutual understanding and inter-faith in association with one another. If not, poise, calm, serenity, and all being craved for are subject to fade away from our wearisome lives. It is necessary to note that the value of life and victories belong to the virtuous. The reason is that virtue is the first step to steer beings towards a meaningful and sensible condition. Here is a noteworthy story.
Once upon a time, the Buddha to be was paid due respect and adored by king and his entourages. The Buddha to be wondered and explored it. He, one day, took one kyat from a goldsmith without permission; he had committed the same way until he was caught . He, as taken to the presence of the king, saw snake-charmers on the road holding and wrapping poisonous snakes round their necks. On admonishing them not to do so, he was satirized and told that that snakes and not like him were cultured and very moral. Having understood the reason why he was honoured and called a valuable person, he uttered these words: “There, in this world, is only one good that is absolutely sublime virtue, that is beyond all comparisons. Take a look at this poisonous snake, it is not tortured and killed on account of morality ”.
Of course, it is he, a very moral person, who earns his bread and butter easily and becomes well-to-do, who is very well-known, who enables to speak out calmly and courageously in public, who is still mindful even at the time of his last breath, who is sure to be reborn in a certain happy abode after death. For those who are willing to live in this world peacefully and happily, and who aspire to be free from suffering, the time is just ripe to accumulate enough merit and to uplift morale and morality. One controlled in deeds, in words, in thoughts, has ability to get rid of both physical and mental problems as well as agitation. There is no doubt that a good life does not drop from the sky like rain. Harder than knowing is practising, but don’t give up easily. Why?. “Slow and steady wins the race” as the saying goes.
To break through perils of life, keep yourself in pure status, content yourself with what you have, generate loving-kindness to all. In fact, it is of vital importance to seek after inner peace and happiness, regardless of sensual pleasure. Never forget to take a good grasp of this great privilege. It is time for us to ponder to resolve what to do and how to do. It is crucially importance for all of us to understand what’s what if we really want to live peacefully and happily .

A Meaningless Moment

While thoughts fade away, life becomes withered.
At the moment you like yourself, the happiest minute comes to you.

If there were no different views on things,
If there were no interesting or pleasant moment,
If there were no freedom of either thought or speech or action,
If there were no hope nor joy today and tomorrow,
If there were full of ''Must'' ''Must'' moment,
Then it would be worthless or dead moment.

If we live purposefully,
If we keep doing persistently,
If we believe in our strength permanently,
then we can grasp at what we want.

If we dream freely,
If we treat fairly,
If we go fearlessly,
then we can reach the top of all.

If we want to know who we are and why we are,
we must take a notice of every moment.
Moment is not just a moment,
It is only just a life-moment.
How valuable it is!

We must identify who we are.
Life is uncertain, death is certain.
We must leave the world with smile but not with cry.
When thoughts are touched with smile, life becomes sweet.

Knowledge and Practice Must Go Together

It is clear that knowledge means a lot to us while we are heading for a better way of living because it is the light to break up the darkness of life we have to face and overcome. It doesn’t matter what types of knowledge you have pursued in order to grasp at what you are chasing after, but how much effort and good-will you have put into it to do for the sake of people around and beyond you, that matters most. No way is there to leave out this fact that knowledge ranges over lots of information about many a thing obtained by either experience or education or more. This is because different people from different places have different kinds of knowledge, for instance, common, medical, scientific, social, educational, religious knowledge and so forth. It should be clearly borne in mind that just as a little knowledge is very dangerous, so too much knowledge is also if we don’t understand how to apply it. It can’t be denied that with the aid of it people, preparing and struggling for a better of future in accordance with demands of modern society, are able to achieve aim and object of life and do what is good and beneficial for all walks of life.

Knowledge without practice is nothing but the burden of brain. When you say you know something without putting it into action, that doesn’t mean you understand it clearly. It is so evident that just knowing is nothing, but doing is something to do with a high standard of living and education. With regard to this, what I would like to share with you is one of the most important and interesting points in the education standard of Sri Lanka, that we all are to take it into account. Nothing under the sun is more fascinating than this right. To tell the truth, many a monk studying in Sri Lanka finds it worthy of following. Monks in Sri Lanka are able to keep abreast of all the latest educational developments together with lay-people because they have rights to follow all modern subjects lay-people are studying. In this way, apart from monastic education, they go to schools at their early ages and then join Universities, thus obtaining respective degrees. There is no doubt at all that they become teachers, lecturers, professors, deans according to their educational qualifications. You will find it very amazing that they earn the same salary as lay-people, at the time of doing their duties as school teachers, lecturers and so on, without dealing with this fact that whether they are still monks or change into lay-life. There is a lifelong guarantee for every educated monk. Where there is no guarantee, there is no accountability. In regard to this, Lay people, who, after having attended and obtained a certain degree from religious Universities, take an interest in Buddhist Scriptures, also can apply for a job at any University in their own soil. What’s more, there are MP monks and president-counsellors. What we need to note here is that these are not because they are trying to get involved in the worldly things but because they are just trying to handle all perils and stand for what is right for the benefit of people. They know exactly what to do and how to deal with all kinds of problem not only in religious affairs but also in environmental, social ones or more. Apart from the latest education system, they are capable of teaching and preaching people the teachings of the Buddha. Having known that monks have ability to sort out difficult situations, devotees can’t help looking up to them. The reason for that is they have a lot of knowledge in both current education and religious text. People either young or old usually pay due respect to the monks for the former grew up under the guidance of the latter through learning Buddhist Scriptures at Sunday Schools, that play an important role on the way of building a good character. It is that Sunday Schools that pave the way for the young and the old to learn, note and understand the Buddhist way of thinking and living, and that help them communicate with monks out of a great veneration and cultivate their spiritual development step by step whenever and wherever they are. What is very important and noteworthy fact is that these ideal tasks come to fruition on account of the considerable strength of monks and lay-teachers, helping each other as much as they can. That is why it is said that unity is power, which brings happiness to all of us. How lay-people usually offer the places to monks in Sri Lanka in any case is a good model that Buddhist people should follow and exercise. Supposing that many people are in the queue waiting for their turn at the Immigration or Embassy, even though it is very restricted place, there is no doubt that the monks will be called and served first. Where there is a public transportation, there are two seats reserved for clergy. No one is allowed to sit down on them at the presence of monks. What you will not think here is this: people nearby will instantly ask you to extend that place to the monks if you occupy and hesitate to get up from them. What impresses me so much is that only two monks take the same bus once while they go out for fear of disturbing lay-people who will have their seats take every monk on it. In this way, they value and teach one another, doing their best hand in hand in order that they can stand in comparison with all demands in this very challenging world.

Now you can clearly see how they are doing and then you can definitely think it over whether it is an urgent need for your society. No wonder is there that it is because monks in Sri Lanka, generally speaking, have more knowledge at many aspects than lay-people that they (lay-people) get on right side of them and keep on going on and on. If so, it is needless to say that it becomes only after they have studied both modern education and the Buddha’s Teachings that they both can stand together for the wellbeing of all. There might be a voice in your head saying we know too much and can memorize the teaching of the Buddha more than others and so forth. It seems to be fair enough to some extent, but when all’s said and done, it is obvious that the time is ripe for us to escape from the shadow of self-importance. What we actually need to ponder is to find out who we are and where we are, and what and why we really want and how we should try to seize it through right knowledge. Those who have understood that doing something effective for all is better than knowing a lot of things left ever undone, should take delight in the applied knowledge, reflecting on this fact that knowing is just for as much doing and sharing as possible. We people simply know a beautiful flower, lacking in fragrance, can yield only fruitless. Storing knowledge only in our heads is merely holding a lot of extra information like a heap of rubbish so long as it isn’t put into action. Our Lord Buddha never praised those who fail to practise what they know and preach. The Buddha expounded that the fool knowing his foolishness can, due to his awareness of it, become a wise man someday, but the fool who is under the impression that he is wise, in fact, is called a fool. This is factually food for thought for all of us. In order not to be so much naïve that we are quite far from what is happening around the world, let’s do what we have got to do for the better of future. Now is our turn; let’s do it now. Today is your gift. Everything comes to those who believe in themselves. Your belief is your inner strength. Love your neighbor and associate with them out of compassion but take care of them, by noticing that even an eagle that lives together with chickens from birth is unable to fly up owing to its effortlessness, regardless of its strength of inborn nature for it was told and taught that it couldn’t fly up like a flying bird in the sky by his companions.

You deserve nothing but praise for your great social spirit and far-sighted action. You can’t neglect that you shouldn’t leave this very world full of things to do, without doing anything beneficial for the welfare of people. Learning is, from my standpoint, not for keeping in mind only but for sharing whatever is good with the youth, our future. Today is very different from yesterday. This means we monks and you lay-people, should go hand in hand on the strength of our knowledge of education and that of religion, based on the mutual understanding and respect. Who is responsible for all is the one who knows the value of noble work. All of us know the noble man has a noble idea and does a noble task. There’s no denying the fact that according to the degree of our knowledge, not only education standard but also social status becomes significantly different from one country to another. To the best of my belief, of what has been mentioned, no knowledge can steadfastly stand in comparison with that of education and of religion, that are the pivots on which we have to build a better society or future, doing our best to keep up with up-to-date demands in day to day life. It should be understood that the things we believed and accepted before are not the ones in demand at present. What’s more, we are to make a great deal of effort to change our negative attitudes, narrow-mindedness, useless orthodoxies into positive ones, broad-mindedness as well as heterodoxies with the help of far-sightedness, even though it is said that old habits die hard.

There is no reason to suppose we can expect our generations to become well-rounded and well-trained students by only memorizing and bearing all things in mind and doing follow-suit without having any critical thinking or creative way of thinking. We will understand something important for us from this following outlook. Albert Einstein said, ‘‘Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything learned in school’’. Quantity cannot stand in fair comparison with quality. We have many things to consider and do to keep up with others. It is true that we have a lot of knowledge concerning with the biggest challenges in day to life, we are, on the other hand, dropping out of meeting that interesting challenges of this very world. This is nothing but something that knowledge and practice don’t go together. I am firmly convinced that our dream will come true at the moment we combine our knowledge with our down-to-earth practice. Having understood that knowledge and practice must go together, let’s apply what we know and start it now if we really want to see the fruitful future. We know and believe in this: Nothing is impossible to the man who has a burning desire and free will to do.

Keep on Going Till The End

Happiness comes to us when we like ourselves. Popularity is when others like us. So, what we need to know is how we should go on in our lives so that our hearts can touch with happiness while living. It is clear that being born as a human being is one of the five rarities, namely: the arising of a Buddha, Having faith in the Three Gems, Becoming a bhikkhu (monk) and having the opportunity to listen to the Noble Truth of the Buddha. It is necessary to have a life based on right and fair favour of oneself. It is very important to understand whether our lives are our choices or others. We have the right to do what is right.

We are the masters of our destinies. You can do all if you believe in your ability. Nothing under the sun is impossible to the man who has a strong will. Do it now. Now is your gift. Your life is under your choice to build a good way of living but it must be righteous.

What we are doing is where we are heading. What we believe doesn't mean that we really understand it. We need to comprehend what is what and what we are living for in this very life. Only a few people know what they are living for and why. Keep on going till the end with a firm and fair decision. Life is not an incident to feel sorry. Life is what we choose or do. Life is too short to feel sad. To reach your goal, you should keep on going till the end again and again.

A Thought

In this very world full of different and opposite things, what do you wanna build or do? You have a chance to be what you wanna be. Try not to forget that you have a great chance to be what you really wanna be. If it is true that life is too short, why don't you try to make your dream come true.
What is the best way to create a better place is to create your inner wish to be calm and pure.

This Moment Is Our Lives

It is the past that, if we consider and love trying to build a better way of living, teaches us to understand what is right or wrong, but for those who think in negative, it becomes nightmare and the thing to put them into regret. It is the present that paves the way for us to do all good and to make effort to reach a high position, and that is also a gift for those who are preparing to gain what they want in this very life. Then, needless to say that it is the future that is a dream and uncertainty if we don't go on in the line of right view and thought, yet it may become the pleasant moment full of all we want in our lives if we are diligent and mindful to all around and beyond. This is because contentment and mindfulness are the best way to feel delighted with all we have and to reach a Higher Abode and even to Nibbana.
We should try to live now happily because now is the gift or the tool to solve all difficult and to earn all good. We shouldn't waste time longing for a fairy-tale in the future that is far way and full of uncertainty nor feel bitter thinking of the things left undone nor feel displeased with what we had in the past. It is this present moment that is the best tool to deal with all good or bad. Don't forget this: this moment is our lives and gift to go on and to gain all we want.

Be Patient And Cultivate Loving-kindness

What will you do if you were looked down without doing anything to hurt others? What if you were criticized even though you are doing your best and cultivating good will to all? What should we do and say when we are talking this and that or more with an opposite view-holder who is ever ready to attack you with harsh words in some way? Will you argue with him or her or give up all your viewpoints? What do you think is the best way to tackle this kind of matter? This is, in fact, what we all are facing in association with one another in daily life. It is said that patience and loving-kindness are the most effective tools to deal with all kinds of problem. What will happen to us if we keep silent and develop good-will to such talkers? This is also a workable way, I think and am doing. It is true that association with many people at every time is subject to feel pain and sorrow. Noteworthy fact is this that starting a solitary way of living is the way to feel calm and happy for there is no argument nor disagreement whatever it is. By doing so, we can read and do all good like meditation or more. As human beings, we have to talk with people and do things whether we like it or not. At that time, to avoid such above mentioned facts, be patient and generate good-will to all thus keeping on silent if you don't want to feel and hear more and more terrible words again and again.

Matter or Not

It is said that nothing under the sun can go together forever. Different people have different viewpoint. It is quite clear that we are sure to hear what we don't like if we keep on saying and doing what we like. This is natural law.
One who wants to hear what he likes, who wants others to say good thing about him or her, who wishes to live happily, that person should abide by this simple rule: Never speak ill of others out of bad attention nor find any fault of others nor think of what is done and left undone by others, but only concentrate on what one himself or herself has already done and left undone in order to lead a better way of living.
In association with one another, it is common for all to find fault or more. It may be due to many a reason. Patience and foresight are the best key factors to deal with all things under any circumstances. Hoping to find a better way, we people should go on hand in hand. No matter what you say but matter what you do. No one cares who you are but what, how and why you do and are doing become food for thought for all to consider what is what and who is who.

Everything But Nothing

Knowing is not understanding but the latter is the pivot to gain what is beneficial for all of us.
Saying means nothing but doing means everything. If there is no living hope, there will be no more meaning to live to go on. What, then, is the real thing we want? We love saying and doing what we don't like to others, but at the same time, we hate hearing and accepting what we have said and done to others. This is generally what happens to all of us in association with one another in daily life.
No doubt is there that those who say and do what they like are subject to hear what they don't like. This is universal law. What is important to all of us is how and why we say and do, and then how much mutual understanding we have. Going on hand in hand is not what we really need but how and why we have so much mutual understanding in association with one another is all we ever need. We can't do everything but nothing can happen without doing anything. Then, doing all we can with a righteous intention, is doing everything we need to do. Life being full of things to do, but people generally leave this very world doing nothing good and beneficial. Why don't we follow and do what is ever good to some extent?

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

This And That

Knowing something is not understanding anything important for the whole life. Doing something good to most people doesn't always mean what is really good and beneficial to the doer in essence or more. Then, what we think and see is not what we factually feel good or pleased with but we pretend to be so. No more reason logically only reason either ignorantly or egotistically. This very world is needy. This is burning with this and that, giving countless reasons and logic. We are crying for the moon but the latter is also crying for us. It gives people so many pleasure with its pure moonlight, surrounding countless stars beside it but it has no more its own power to satisfy itself. If we were in its place, what and how will we feel and why? No exact and concrete answer is there but many a one with no more pleasure, to it. Living is not for worry but for happiness in mind and body, through doing what is ever right. Saying is nothing, but doing is something effective. Just thinking of and believing in something good or bad, don't mean understanding and feeling pleased with it forever and ever. We people want others to do or struggle with things, for which we ourselves have no taste. That is the way it is. What will happen to us if we ourselves are to live for what we are calling and saying good or more? In this image, while the lake is dutifully keeping a little water with its poor wall, we people just see it has a little water to use and then it is out of use but don't think how and why we should prepare and rebuild it to store much more. Just thinking not understanding. We have many answers to everything. The answer is just this and that.

Climb Or Life-cliff?

It was six o' clock. Many people were going where there and everywhere. It was raining and getting dark more and more. Along the way, the sound of streaming stream was a close friend. While everything around except the sound of steps was silent, a heavy breath became a loud noise. Both our knees and our throats were shaking and burning with thirsty while our stomachs crying for food. Suddenly, came out a weary voice: OK, buddies, let's take a rest for a moment. No argument nor reply to it among us. Why? Everybody was ready to have a rest. Yes, at that time, we were climbing up to the second highest and the holiest mountain of Srilanka: Sri Pada, where the Lord Buddha reached and left his footprint. As a matter of fact, when we sat down, we had been climbing up to it for about over 2 hours. So cliff. Dog-tired. Sometimes, I felt I couldn't go on anymore and it would be better to go back. ''I can't go anymore'' I thought. But I could. During that time, a flash of thought came into my mind again and over: life is nothing but climbing, success in life is none but the climb. So cliff and so complicated. We might fall down over and over while striving for what we believe in our life as if we are to take rest again and again at the time of climbing up to this mountain. Once we give up our faith, we become weak and lose heart. We can, on the contrary, go on even though so tired and weak, should we keep our faith and will strong and fresh ever, believing in our strength. My mind was full of such countless thought. But it is true. Why? We could reach that mountain and pay homage to the Buddha's footprint. Only strong mind or faith in our goal, do we need to get what we want. It may take us several times to hold our ends.

Our Thought

Days and nights pass by.
But my knowledge and theory are still wavering at all times.
Most people are rushing and chasing after things,
Way of thinking and living becomes weak and strange.
We are heading for a better life
Yet reaching an opposite state.
Everywhere and with everything even in our bed with no rest,
We are hoping and striving to strike it rich in a different type.
Reason and greed are fighting in deed.
What we are neglecting is this:
At every moment we can slide into our last breath.
The world is needy.
We are ever greedy.
Content is a concrete wealth.
This is a noteworthy fact.
Let's make an effort to develop our thought.

Happy Mind And Healthy Body

Do we really know what we need and want in our life? Are you sure? So, how? On the day you understand well who you are and what you are doing in order to build a better life not for yourself only but for all around and beyond you, your dream will come true sooner or later. You no doubt can lead a valuable way of living if you go on standing for all good and beneficial to all walks of life. What we need to consider is how we will keep on and build a better society. Don't forget why and when to do so. If you like yourself in deed, your life is good, but is it really good? Why do you say so? Be sure! We might say, when we like ourselves in daily life at every side, we are happy! But majority can't say so. The question is: why and when will we say we really feel happy? Happy mind comes from healthy body and reasonable thought as well as righteous way of living. We are in need of doing and sharing what we know.

A Voice Heard Ever

''I love you'','' I will never leave you'', you once said to me.
I can't forget your honey words.
You are ever in my thought.
You came into my heart without knocking at my heart-door.
I have been fooled around you and your words.
''I hate you'','' you are an idiot'', you added again and again.
I still remember your sharp words.
''You are my dream, you are my world'',
These are your sweet words ever engraved in my thought.
''I miss you'', I thought.
''I can't live without you'', I believe.
I am now drowning in your so called love.
I am still burning in your horrible hate.
You are a mysterious angel in my life.
You leave me alone without saying goodbye.
Before knowing what love means.
My heart is burning,
My dream is crashing.
I am wondering what love means,
If I have a chance to come across again.
These are what we people heard ever.
Is it acceptable or denial?
Love is like a snake.
Is it right?
What we really need is only compassion and loving-kindness in daily life.

A Wish

Happy New Year To All of You!
What and how will we go on in this new year? Let's go on doing and finding all good and beneficial to all of us. With a fresh mind and body, if we start again to develop and improve all around and beyond us, our future dream will come true.

Know Who You Are

What do we really want and need in this very life and why? What do you want to be most in your life? How and why? Do you think it is reasonable and remarkable for you and your society? Do you have a specific answer to it? Have you ever thought of your real need and want with right understanding? Of course, we have to think deeply and carefully to do what's more and to stand for what we believe in our lives. I can say for sure on the day you understand what and why you really want to be in your life, you will become a valuable one. Many people don't know how and why and so on, regarding many a thing they are doing in daily life. Those who know who they are are those who become great ones. So, we must know who we are and why we want to become so in order to be in high position.

When And How?

We have to leave this very world before we are satisfied with all we have and haven't yet. Do we have an exact target to feel contented with whatever we earn; when and how will we like ourselves and why? Are we on the way to an endless road? No or Yes? Birds die, flying, while fish die, swimming. So, how about us? Are you sure? It is sure that man passes away doing this and that. When and how should we say we are worthy or valuable ones? Can we say our lives are full of our dreams now? All beings are subject to leave the world full of many things to do before they get what they want. When and how? Why?

Flash Thought

We would like to possess something, and we would like to own some more --more and more--, in this way, want and wild desire go on non-stop. We are drowned in the ocean of want and wish. We want nothing but pleasure. What we want is not what we ever want. So what? Do you know when it will end and why? No greed, no grief, I think. No want, no worry, I believe. Is it really acceptable?
I have no idea about it. May be, you can think of it-- how and why or more.

Knowing or what?

When I know something, I know nothing of it. When I don't know it clearly, I know something uncertain.
Knowing and not-knowing is only a part of reasoning what is what. Do we really know of it, when we say'' I know it''?

What’s What

we, at the present age, are striving to reach a high standard of living. we also speak of people as being good and bad in every day conversation. It is evident to all of us that in this day and age, with all his wealth and high position, there is still such person who lives in worry and anxiety and loses his bearings. life wastes itself while we are struggling for what we believe . Thus, we have become enslaved to the so -called pleasure daydreaming. It leaves us feeling low and craven and then we are at a loss what to do next. It is in fact due to our ignorance that instead of searching internal happiness, we are seeking after external things .

The way to peace and happiness is so simple: tell the truth, act righteously, and live by doing what is right. In order not to be linkened to a flower with no fragrance, let’s harness our wild desire and wish with dignity and strive to get what we need. It is said that to travel hopefully is better than to arrive.
Actually, it is only when one is satisfied with whatever he earns, trains his mind to become reasonable and grows into social conscience that one enables to build a healthy and happy life. Our compassionate Buddha exhorted beings to guard and tame their mind because a well-guarded and tamed mind brings happiness. All we need to do is to practise what we preach and to keep on mutual understanding and inter-faith in association with one another. If not, poise, calm, serenity, and all being craved for are subject to fade away from our wearysome lives.
He, one day, took one kyat from a goldsmith with no permission; he had committed the same way until he was caught. He, as taken to the presence of the king, saw snake-charmers on the road holding and wrapping poisonous snakes round their necks. On admonishing them not to do so, he was satirized and told that that snakes and not like him were cultured and very moral. Having understood the reason why he was honoured and called a valuable person, he uttered these words: “There, in this world, is only one good that is absolutely sublime virtue, that is beyond all comparissons. Take a look at this poisonous snake, it is not tortured and killed on account of morality”.
Knowing is nothing, doing is something we all need in deed. It is crucially importance for all of us to understand what’s what if we really want to live peacefully and happily .

Special Thing But Nothing

Thinking what and how to do at present is living for a good life if your thought slides into action, while thinking of the past without taking any lesson is living for nothing special. What is special is sometimes nothing special. Then, special thing is nothing but something at times.

Will And Lesson

We can gain many a lesson to learn to apply it in day to day life when we go to somewhere.
We are to be aware of all near and far once we keep our attention in mindful mind. Then we should put it into action righteously so that we can walk on the right way.
Different view and different custom as well as culture come into our mind on traveling.
How good opportunities it is for us to apply for a better life.
Where there is a will to learn , there is a way to learn lesson. Where there are people , there are methods for us to learn what and how they are doing and why.
So, when a good will to learn lesson for life comes into our mind clearly is when we can pursue all good or bad.

Idea and Thought

Everybody has his or her idea and thought. Still having something doesn't means having everything at command.
The great man has the great idea and thought thus trying to fulfill it.
The noble man has the noble idea and thought thereby developing all around and beyond.
What we think is what we were in the past, are now and will be in future.
What is important is when and how to put our idea and thought into right action.
Our actions are our histories. Those are the things that will decide who we were, are and will be.
Nothing is impossible under the sun to those who have a strong will and who keep on striving for it systematically and reasonably.

When Life Starts changing

When life turns into either good or bad is when your way of thinking is changed. Whether or not we take care of our changing, is only depending on what you do and why you do.

Is Every Conclusion an Answer?

Just as every conclusion is not an answer to every problem we people are facing in daily life, so also, every problem demands no, all the time, answer.
Knowing clearly space and time is reaching exactly what needs and wants. Ever thinking and doing in the fixed boundary are not the way to cope with all difficult.
So, what is necessary is to think and do beyond the limits to certain extent through right understanding what and why. Good luck comes to those who believe it and those who keep strong faith in finding what is what.
This is because of the fact that we are in need of both right changing and right doing as well as right moving on, depending on the righteous way that asks everybody to keep in mind respective responsibilities through morale and morality.

If We Go On With This

It is natural that everybody longs for a healthy and happy life. We can see people striving for what they believe, hoping their great dreams come true someday if they find a way. Just as we, as faced with ups and downs of life, are suggested to have a good friend to encourage and motivate to go on, so also, it is taken into consideration for all of us to have an effective means in order to reach our target in a short span of time. Now let’s go through with the following good rules.
All we from the outset need to do is to become a virtuous one. It is of vital importance to tell the truth and to act righteously whenever and wherever you are if you really want to be in a good condition. The reason is that no one likes to associate with a wicked one, and that good conduct is the infrastructure of building a better life. It should be borne in mind that morale and morality are the pillars of our life and the passport to our future, that will allow us to enter the gateway to success. There is no other thing more worthy of preserving than it that is a core of evaluating if one is valuable. No doubt that such reputation and dignity as well as respect come to just those who live in accordance with Form and Function. The question is whether it is possible to keep ourselves in high moral status when we get into cut-throat competition. The answer is, “Yes, we can”,. Believe in this: where there is a will, there is a way. Life possessed of property and power means so much to some who live for possession, on the one hand, if there is no morality, it is of no use to those who value it more assuming that nothing under the sun is comparable with virtue. So, be righteous one not in action only but in speech as well as in thought.
The next step is to pursue general knowledge. Needless to say, having knowledge in respective fields to some extent makes one famous and fabulous. One is able to grasp at his opportunity by virtue of which. To know, to note, to memorize what is seen and heard is a good habit. Knowing something is better than knowing nothing even if a little knowledge is very dangerous at times. A person without knowledge is like a robot without sense and thus he takes untruth for truth and truth for untruth making many a silly mistake. Now is the opportune moment for you to inquire further into the matters of future feather in your cap should you keep burning-desire to higher position. As long as we do not enough cognition, we are still far from advantages arisen out of discussions and communications. Only when we get sense of what happens around us and beyond, can we take part in social activities and give a hand to the needy. From now on, plan for persistently and purposefully preparing for knowledge to help gain what you are standing for.
Will we be well-off by merely keeping the two above mentioned? No! You will ask me why. Because as yet we have not a good friend, a torch to show the way to break through every peril of life. Having association with a real friend is like having a golden-pot that never comes to shortage of all we need. We cannot avoid relationship with one another in day to day life for man is a social animal. It does not matter how many friends you have, but how you treat others and whether you have an excellent companion and been so to yours matter most. Be social to all with a well-meaning, and maintain one ready to instruct to you what is right or wrong. When it comes to the point, who guides and advises pointing to both the pros and cons of our behaviour regardless of our different standpoint is who we ought to associate with in the long term. No one but gifted one can stand alone in the swirls of untold pain of human life for man is intrinsically not perfect. Remember the Lord Buddha’s admonitions: to associate with the wise and not with the foolish; on hearing their talks, one becomes only a noble, not an ignoble. Here, one we call a buddy is one who is virtuous, upright, good-minded and high self-esteem. A life with no real comrade is likened to be a bird with no legs and wings. He cannot be found at a dinnerparty only at a time we are in a tight corner. Due to this matter, there comes a saying--a friend in need is a friend in deed. As love begets love, one with a big dream must, first and foremost, be a good one to join forces with others to achieve great things. Be convinced that good fortune will come to you on the day you meet a real benevolent friend.
And then, whether or not we are soft-spoken and eloquent is to be taken into account because without the art of which we can do nothing to persuade and pervade our perspectives. Well-spoken ones are upwardly mobile ones for such ability is nothing but a secret to success. In contrast, talking through only your hat or being just a talker is not everybody’s cup of tea. Never hesitate to follow up these rules--speak less, listen to more, ask advice from the other, be ready to go effectively by all good and beneficial. We see many people engrossed so much in their terms to have their say that they have been far from both the benefit and the point mainly discussed, not having understood how advantageous it is in paying attention to other’s outlook. “We have two ears and only one tongue in order that we may hear more and speak less,” said Diogenes. Your goal is neither too far nor too close to you if mending. Now, let’s deliver an intelligent speech to strike it rich.
As a matter of fact, as things never go easy by just word of mouth, it is crucial to us to put our knowledge into action. In my view, deeds are absolutely needed more than words. It is only when we participate in team-work and neighbourhood with a decent frame of mind that we become well-informed and able to mend and mould our characters. Live actively and intelligently through share and share-alike living and team spirit, that is a good characteristic of a great man. We can see in the football match how important part team spirit plays on the way to development not in society only but in state also. In doing so, only our loving-kindness and goodwill matter most. And taking responsibility on the part of what we did and do.
Then, it should clearly be borne in mind to love and value your precious and priceless culture and literature wherever you are. Moreover, never look down on others and try to support them without discrimination between inferior and superior if necessary. However vital it is to change with time to keep abreast of current affairs and to hang on high-tech, we should not allow our heritage to be cast aside. We must have both feet on the ground even when in a state of being prosperous. This is because of the fact that the glory and dignity of a country or a nation is based on the higher level of its culture and literature. Let’s sink in the essence of it we are expected to be devoted to.
And then, food for thought here is which level is called a higher status of living. Since man is a craving-creature, the more we get, the more we want. We cannot explicate our need and want due to lack of understanding what we are living for and why thus chasing after a hunger for endless sensual pleasure. What on earth the foolish are creating a circle of endless searching, whereas the wise are absorbing in satisfaction and contentment with all they have through realizing they have nothing to do with worldly pleasure on the way to noble life and real happiness. Material property is built on the very edge of momentry enjoyment, on the other hand, contentment endowed with powers of reasoning and comprehension lasts ever firmly and securely. The greatest man in the world is he who is satisfied and able to get rid of his thirst for all things. Not to get caught up in the rat race; at any rate, be contented with all you earn.
It is, in truth, taken for granted that victory belongs to the most persevering. It is only through wisely spending a lot of time and diligence not for the welfare of ourselves only but for all that a stroke of good luck comes into us. Now life-span is completely limited with time, who loves his life must love his time so as to reach a bed of rose. Noticing “time and tide waits for no man’’ and setting out to wipe out bad behaviours and self-centred attitude as well as ever wishful thinking, we should keep on our attempts. Nothing is impossible to those who have resolute mind, lofty aim and effort, too. You are the master of your destiny, and so you can do all. Believing in it, do it right now to do well.
After that, we are to be mindful of aim and object of life or of where and who we are and what we are seeking for so that we can know what to do and how to do and why. With forethought and focus on flying high, let’s go on and on. Fortune favours us fairly at the minute we mind out for improvement on property and purity of mind. Be aware of what and how is happening around the world so as not to be left behind the date.
And the last one is education. It goes without saying how and why prominent and powerful it is at the present day. Today is IT Age, and the world has been termed Global Village, where English Language and Computer together with Internet are applied to communicate and talk all matters over with one another. To keep up with the time, everyone is expected to be educated to some extent especially the youth to be well-rounded and well-adjusted adults. And pave the way for them. Why? Because the youth are our future and dreams. “The foundation of every state is the education of its youth,” said Diogenes. So evident is it that there is no other way but education to build a valuable life, and that things and even knowledge without education are as dangerous as a devil factory. And you must be more educated not to underestimate and treat others like dirt but like yourself when you are informed. In fact, all is well and truly in the bounds of wisdom. If so, do not wait for opportunities, make and take them, by hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
If you have already bowed down before success and happiness praised by the wise, the time is ripe for you to consider and distill the value of what has been talked over and to apply it in life. Because if you go on with these, you will get what you want.
